Islamabad Model College for Girls (ICG) F-6/2 hosted a grand celebration of Baba Marta Day, a traditional festival marking the arrival of spring, widely observed in Bulgaria, Greece, and Romania (known as Martisor in Romania and Martis in Greece).

Deputy Education Advisor Dr. Shoaiba Mansoor delivered the welcome address, while the college administration warmly received diplomats from Bulgaria, Greece, and Romania, along with other distinguished guests. Students greeted the guests in their native languages, enhancing the spirit of cultural exchange.

Young students showcased the rich diversity of Pakistan by wearing traditional attire from all provinces, including Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan. The audience thoroughly enjoyed cultural performances as students danced to regional and folk songs, celebrating the vibrant traditions of both Pakistan and the guest nations.

The festival featured traditional wristbands (Martenitsa), cultural performances by Pakistani, Bulgarian, Greek, and Romanian artists, and beautifully themed decorations that captured the essence of Baba Marta Day. Guests also exchanged souvenirs, adding to the festive charm.

ICG Principal Professor Sabah Faisal expressed heartfelt gratitude to the visiting diplomats, presenting them with the college insignia and flower bouquets as tokens of appreciation. The event concluded with memorable group photos of the guests and students, marking a successful celebration of unity and cultural harmony.
