In line with its vision, mission and motto for industry and maintaining its tradition of exhibiting its industrial products NUTECH will participate at IDEAS Expo 2024 from November 19 to 22 at the Karachi Expo Center, NUTECH’s participation in IDEAS Expo 2024 will highlight its commitment to fostering innovation, collaboration, and sustainable technology. As NUTECH continue its legacy as a university for industry, NUTECH delegation held meetings with prominent leading industries and association. In the context of IDEAS Expo 2024, NUTECH delegation led by Registrar Brig Dr Syed Adnan Qasim visited ABAD head office Karachi. In the provincial capital of Sindh, ABAD has played a pivotal role in procurement of land for its members and also for the issuance of no objection to them by Karachi Development Authority. Other major achievements of ABAD include increasing the covered area of flats, fixation of the selling price of housing units, inclusion of a provision of escalation, simplification of the procedure for the permission to mortgage and registration of leases, increase in the period of completion and streamlining of documentation procedures regularly. During the discussion, the agenda points discussed were ABAD Sponsorship of NUTECH BET (Civil) w.e.f Fall 2025, plan for ABAD academic audit & evaluation of ongoing BET Programs, NUTECH role in development & implementation strategy of National policy for construction industry. During the meeting, ABAD Chairman Muhammad Hassan Bakhshi agreed to support aspiring civil engineers by covering 50% of the university fees for the Bachelor of Engineering Technology (BET) in Civil Engineering at NUTECH, accompanied by a job guarantee for graduates, says press note. This initiative aims to support new talent in the construction sector and provide essential career opportunities. In a move to ensure equitable access to education, Mr. Bakhshi proposed the implementation of a quota system for the BET program, ensuring that opportunities are available to all. Additionally, ABAD has committed to an academic audit and evaluation of the ongoing BET program, as suggested by NUTECH, to enhance the quality and effectiveness of the educational offerings in the construction field. Chairman Mr Bakhshi emphasize on vital role of NUTECH in the development and implementation of a national policy strategy for the construction industry.
