The Ambassador expressed gratitude to the attendees, including Tariq Osman Hyder, Ambassador Salahuddin Chaudhary, Zaigham Uddin Azam, a distinguished diplomats & former Ambassadors of Pakistan to Vietnam, and Mr. Shakil Ahmed, highlighting their significant contributions to the strong bilateral relations between Vietnam and Pakistan. Addressing the gathering of Vietnamese expatriates and Pakistani friends, Ambassador Phong emphasized the symbolic return to their roots during Tet and Spring, fostering unity and celebrating the rich history and traditions of Vietnam. Reflecting on the global challenges faced in 2023, Ambassador Phong underscored Vietnam's resilience and achievements under the wise leadership of the Communist Party. Notably, the country achieved remarkable economic growth, with GDP reaching 430 billion USD, making it the 3rd largest economy in ASEAN. The Ambassador acknowledged the vital role played by the overseas Vietnamese community in Pakistan in contributing to these accomplishments. He expressed pride in Vietnam's diplomatic relations with 193 countries, affirming its role as a peace-loving, independent nation with a strong focus on international cooperation and development. In his closing remarks, Ambassador Phong extended warm wishes for the Lunar New Year of the Dragon to the people of Vietnam and the distinguished guests. He emphasized the importance of great national unity, patriotism, and the enduring connection of Vietnamese expatriates to their homeland.
